Summer Workshop, Bookbinding, Decorative Papers, Paper making, and Printmaking!
Four week Residency workshop for graduating 5th and 6th grade students. Held at Booksavers of Maryland Hagerstown Maryland. Free. July 8 through Aug 1, 2024
Students will explore writing, decorative papers (marbled paper, paste papers), bookbinding, printmaking, papermaking doing hands-on work. Histories using replicas, and samples will be on hand for inspiration and discovery during the entire course. Application pdf to fill out to enroll.

Printmaking workshop
John Campbell Folk school Sept 22 – 28, 2024 JCFS tuition, (for students all levels)
Come learn a different printmaking process each day. Using the same design for each technique, learn how different methods of printmaking affect the outcome and aesthetic of each type of print. At the end of the workshop, students will have up to six different printmaking methods under their belt. Processes covered with include engraving, linocut, woodcut, wood engraving, metal plate lithography, and drypoint. Experiment with various papers and treatments as well.

Ft. Frederick State Park 100th Anniversary Celebration
May 25, 26, 2024 Ft. Fredrick State Park, Maryland
Living History as an artist in the 18th century! I will demonstrate either 18th c watercolor portraiture, an important art form in the early days of the colonies to establish identity, status, wealth, using various replicas, samples, and other materials to bring these to life. Hands-on of course – come try your hand at this and enjoy our magnificent Ft. Frederick State Park! This is more fun than taking a selfie!


If you think selfies are a modern thing, think again! At the Job Lane Farm, in Bedford MA. August 11 you will be able to try your hand at various artist media, and finish with painting your own 17th-18th century style miniature portrait, and important version of a long-ago selfie! Come join me and explore miniature portrait painting! It does not matter if you do not draw or paint! It is as fun to try this, or better than snapping your i-phone selfie!
