Research

From fieldwork, on-site, workshops interviews, special collections, museums and libraries come a variety of learning experiences, for me and everyone who would like to join me! 

Metal

Metals has many types properties and possible projects can be done with metalworking. From ferrous, to non-ferrous metals, small pieces to grand scale, from individually made to group projects, there is always something to learn and make!

Bookbinding, Printmaking and Fibers

Bookbinding and its related arts include Calligraphy, writing, inks, paints, gilding, decorative papers, paper making, sewing, twining, cords, so many book types and traditions as well as innovative development, there is something about this kind of work that is compelling and wonderful for everyone!

I am always compiling various resources to help facilitate learning the work processes of metals, papers, bookbinding, fibers, and how to make tools, out of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, paints, inks to be able to make objects of metal, paper or fiber, organic, inorganic and recyclable materials. 

17th – 18th century selfies!

If you think selfies are a modern thing, think again! At the 17th- 18th century artist hands-on workshops, you will be able to try your hand at various artist media, and finish with painting your own 17th-18th century style miniature portrait, and important version of a long-ago selfie! Come join me and explore miniature portrait painting! It does not matter if you do not draw or paint! It is as fun to try this, or better than snapping your i-phone selfie!  Early Modern, 17th – 18th artist methods and materials hands-on workshops available as well, portraiture is included but not the focus.

Teaching and Workshops

From classroom integrated learning with math and literacy, critical thinking, living history inspired, facilitating groups, presentations and short and long term residencies, from large to small groups to individual lessons, and of all ages, I am happy to help you find an ideal way to present your hands-on learning experiences! We all learn from each other!
