Art / Coaching / Lessons

Learning all the time with a curious wonder; to see, relate, find, center, communicate, connect, create, celebrate!

Welcome to my workshop! I would love to make a treasure for you to keep or give someone special.

Let me know what you are looking for.

I work with all kinds of metals, and all kinds of papers, fibers. inks and paints.

I also work with (and for) PEOPLE!

If you would like to have me coach you so you feel more confident working on your projects, I would be honored to coach you or give lessons using the ideas, resources, and techniques I have learned while doing my own work and have observed from other artists as well.

for more information see: Working/Resumé details

I am a metalsmith, bookbinder, printmaker, papermaker.  My work involves researching historic methods of working as well as contemporary methods in each of these areas. This also encompasses all the arts related to these as well.  I also have a theme of work that is RRR&r; Resourcefully reuse, repurpose, recycle – where the pieces are made with materials that were already used and no longer fit for the original use or discarded.

I like to make objects that have some utility for the owner, that expresses beauty, thoughtful themes, and that consider ecological mindedness, and social issues.

Art / Coaching / Lessons

Sometimes, all it takes is to have someone in your corner, cheering you on and holding you accountable for what you say (or think) you want to do! I am happy to fulfill that role for you!

Working within a community of peers and mentors helps all of us grow!

I believe that children and adults (all of us!) need more hands-on experiences to engage with the world in thoughtful and useful ways.  I like to facilitate the imaginative connection of ideas, concepts, materials, and learning from traditional methods of working as well as exploration of pioneering ideas that propel us into the future in sustainable ways.  Exploring the building blocks of sustainable and enjoyable practice of skill building and art making is a topic that never grows old (or unnecessary)!

I like to facilitate individual sessions or group sessions that give the participants ample time to explore, make mistakes and learn whatever projects are featured (such as in my bookbinding workshops; using progressive projects to build up to hardback bookbinding  (including multi-cultural, historic, and contemporary models).  My demonstrations at events are also presented as hands-on events for all my visitors – they become participants in the processes.

I strive to make my spaces safe, engaging, and simulating places for growth and development, where curiosity and creative focusing and joy can be found.

My continual learning and research takes me to museums, libraries, historic sites, workshops, classes, and other venues to learn and expand my abilities to connect with others, create and participate fully in all the artistic mediums that I work with.  I encourage others  to make use of what is available to them as well.

Please let me know when you want to start your journey with me!

I would be honored to be your guide.
