The Codex
The early codex looks more familiar to us, and the binding methods still influence how we make our books and how we expect them to function. Models using materials similar to long ago are used in various replicas for hands-on learning. Directions of how to make you own are also available.

Modern versions
The long stitch as it is currently called, was originally a student-made binding for assembling pages that were copied or to be copied into. Modern versions of past methods of bindings help us see the possibilities of carrying forward these techniques that have been handed down to us.
